DJ Workshop Melbourne

Our 1-day DJ workshop in Melbourne gets you mixing in a single afternoon at our Yarraville studio — on real club gear, in a small group, taught by a working DJ. No experience or equipment needed. All ages welcome.

Why We Built It

The lowest-risk way to find out if DJing is for you

Most people who want to DJ never start — they’re not sure they’ll take to it, and a full course feels like a big leap before they’ve touched a deck. After 30+ years teaching, we knew the honest answer was to let people try first.

So we took the foundations of our 12-week Comprehensive Course — the exact Weeks 1–4 material — and condensed them into a single hands-on afternoon. You’ll play a real mix on real gear the same day you walk in. No commitment beyond the day, and it’s the natural first step into our longer courses when you’re ready. And if you decide to take on a full course, we’ll credit the topics you’ve already covered and apply the discount to the course you choose.

One afternoon, real decks, a real mix — then you’ll know.

Do I need any experience?
None at all. This workshop is built for complete beginners — most people arrive having never touched a deck, and leave having played a real mix.
Do I need my own gear?
No. All equipment is provided — turntables, CDJs and controllers. Just bring yourself and headphones if you have them (we can lend a pair if not).
How long is the day and what’s the schedule?
4.5 hours of instruction, running 1:00–5:30 PM: an hour on foundations, an hour on the beat mix, a 30-minute break with snacks provided, then two hours of hands-on practice with coaching.
Can I do it with a friend?
Yes — the Bring a Friend ticket is two places for $300, saving $100 against two single tickets.
Is there an age limit?
All ages are welcome. Students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the day.
What happens after the workshop?
You’ll leave with a Certificate of Completion and a practice worksheet. If you want to go further, the workshop feeds straight into our Studio Course and Private Tuition — just ask your instructor on the day.
